5 Business Leadership Skills (Part 5 of 5)

In today's company leadership is essential to moving the business to profitability.  There are several leadership traits that distinguish corporations.  I am writing about the following 5:
  • Lead by Example
  • Organization
  • Delegate/Empowerment
  • Communication
  • Risk Tolerance
Risk tolerance is a key to leadership.  In order to effectively lead and move a business forward a leader needs to be comfortable taking risks.  The route that appears "safe" may not be the long term solution.  An organization respects the leader that can take a calculated risk to achieve the rewards that come with it.

A quote from Leo F. Buscaglia, "The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live."

You keep getting the same results until you decide to raise your risk tolerance ability.  Be honest, brave, and make decisions to better the organization.  Directly communicate to the team the expectations and lead.

As Andre Gide states, "Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore."

I really like all of the 5 Business Leadership Skills blogs. They are short to the point and the quotes are timely. I truly appreciate you taking the time to put out such valuable information.
