5 Business Leadership Skills (Part 3 of 5)

In today's company leadership is essential to moving the business to profitability.  There are several leadership traits that distinguish corporations.  I am writing about the following 5:
  • Lead by Example
  • Organization
  • Delegate/Empowerment
  • Communication
  • Risk Tolerance
Delegate/Empowerment is a key skill.  A great leader delegates effectively.  The key to successful delegation is giving employees ownership of the work you assign.  Create an environment where risk are rewarded and expected.

An empowered employee will provide the ability to further the goals of the organization and allow a higher level of decision making at all levels.  This also will lead to greater job satisfaction and the highly skilled employee can be retained.

Bill Gates brought further empowerment to the workforce with technology and states, “There's a basic philosophy here that by empowering...workers you'll make their jobs far more interesting, and they'll be able to work at a higher level than they would have without all that information just a few clicks away.”
